For many years I have wanted to share my life story. Due to shame and fear, I lacked the bravery to do so. However, with the passing of Dr. Lisa Strober, my former therapist last summer, I realized that she always wanted to me to openly share my stories with people. Dr. Strober believed that my stories would inspire and change people’s lives, and at the same time free myself from my own traumas as I continue progressing on my path of recovery.
I alone don’t have the courage and strength to do it. So, I am doing this for my beloved therapist. She continues to give me strength and courage.
My life is the story of Resiliency. In this Video Series, I share my life stories from when I was a young 7-year-old boy in Taiwan, my journey to the U.S. and the reason behind my migration, the ten years of childhood as a Buddhist monk in California, how I left the monastery and rediscovered myself, my college years, my professional years, how I have found my purpose, and how I am working toward achieving my dreams.
