What happened on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at the National Capitol, I am going to simply label as a terrorist attack, treason, and a failed attempted sedition and coup.

I am glad there are more articles and people voicing and writing about the real and tragic reality of “Two Americas” which compares the injustice, the heavy-handed and shoot-at-your-will police treatment of BLM protests vs the white supremacist terrorism of January 6, 2021. If people, specifically white folks and the complacent Asian Americans can’t tell the difference, then I don’t who will.

So far, we’ve spent $2.4 trillion dollars on the War on Terror in a period of 20 years. During this whole time, the real terror has been brewing and growing in our own backyard.

Months ago, I read a report about the FBI’s domestic risk assessment. If I remember correctly, for years now the FBI has put domestic white supremacy as one of the highest-level threats to the US. I came across a similar report a couple of years ago. And of course, the racist and hateful Trump Administration doesn’t want to acknowledge and do anything about this real threat. And, the complacent and race-deniers of the Obama Administration didn’t do much, either.

Congressional members and many other experts have already started questioning the legitimacy and shame of spending $700 billion per year on defense when a domestic group of white supremacist terrorists could so easily storm and take over the Nation’s Capital.

What’s the point of spending billions on defending our country when the country is rotting from within? Look at our education and healthcare system and poverty rate. Ultimately, who are we really protecting? Who else is going to be left to be protected? Russia, China, and Iran don’t need to fire missiles to demolish us. We are and have already started destroying ourselves and our country.

I just read that the Sergeants-at-Arms of the Senate and House Chambers have been forced to resign. I have no doubt that these two individuals could easily find another job in the private sector as Head of Security or something else. At the same time, what a disgrace for them. They had one job and that job was to secure their own respective chambers and ensure the safety of congressional members. Whatever reason they have, they have definitely failed miserably in great dishonor.

I hope we can come together and heal, sooner than later. This quote brings a cautionary reminder about the state of our country, “What has history said of eminence without honor, wealth without wisdom, and power and possessions without principle? The answer is reiterated in the overthrown of the mightiest empires of ancient times. Babylon, Persia, Greece, Rome, [Tang Dynasty, Mongol Empire]! The successive, universal powers of the past. What and where are they?”
